Diversity is Good Business
Background:
Since 1998, DG3 has sought to support the development and growth
of MWBE businesses. It has taken its most aggressive steps
recently. DG3 has agreed to target spending to MWBE businesses in
support of its clients overarching diversity objectives. Although
many times very difficult due to our industry composition, security
requirements of clients and the scale requirements of our clients,
DG3 has managed to directly spending with many MWBE businesses in
all facets of the industry.
What is DIG?:
DG3 is seeking to make DIG the most innovative and far reaching
supplier diversity program in the graphic communications industry.
The DIG program enables DG3 clients to achieve significant Prime,
Tier 1 and Tier 2 spend objectives by working with DG3 and the DIG
network members.
How it Works:
DG3 will regularly add MWBE certified businesses to our network.
The members will cover all facets of the graphic communications and
document management services marketplace. The more firms we add,
the more firms we can expose to the spending of our clients and the
more our clients can identify resources connected to DG3 to achieve
their spending objectives.
Spending Classifications under DIG:
Listed below are the types of spending classifications you can
achieve by working with DG3 and its DIG network members.
- First Tier Supplier - A first tier supplier is a DIG network
member/supplier that provides the product/services and invoices
directly to a DG3 client for goods and services rendered directly
by that supplier.
- Second Tier Supplier - A second tier supplier is a supplier
that provides products/services and invoices DG3 for goods and
services rendered that DG3 will invoice to its client.
- Direct Second Tier Purchases are defined as: Second Tier
supplier products/services which CAN be identified in support of a
specific requirement of a DG3 client. For example, DG3s purchase of
office supplies from an MWBE firm.
- Indirect Second Tier Purchases are defined as: Products and
services which CANNOT be identified in support of a specific
requirement of a DG3 client. For, example DG3s purchase of paper
for a specific project from an MWBE firm.
